Small Business Resource
Network
For expertise outside the SBDC at UNF’s scope, the Small
Business Resource Network includes a link
to professionals in the areas of accounting, finance,
insurance, law and management consulting, and
to government agencies providing employment, lending
and management assistance.
Small Business Institute
For more in-depth projects, business
owners may be selected to participate in the Small
Business Institute, an elective class in the UNF
College of Business Administration that matches
graduate business students with a business for
a full semester. Projects might include business
plans, marketing plans, office automation, or
process re-engineering.
Marketplace Business-to-Business Marketing
Leads
This tool helps business owners
prospect for new customers, test marketing ideas
and analyze market potential. This unique software
program contains Dun & Bradstreet information
on more than 12 million companies. Marketplace
enables business owners to build, revise and refine
targeted mailing and telemarketing lists based
on customer profiles. In addition, the database
can help business owners identify competitors
and locate new markets.
fisCAL Financial Analysis
This software tool analyzes
financial statements to determine annual trends
over time, to calculate financial ratios for comparison
with industry averages, and to pinpoint areas
for improvement. FisCAL can also be useful to
a potential buyer or seller to assist in evaluating
business performance and establishing a value
for the business.
SMART Assessment
The Strategic Management Assessment
Research Tool (SMART) evaluates the quality of
systems and processes within a company as they
relate to leadership, strategic planning, customer
and market focus, human resource development and
management, and business results. This management
audit provides a thorough evaluation of the business
and recommends strategic action for the future.
