The mission of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UNF is to provide counseling, training, information and, through its Small Business Resource Network (SBRN), professional resources for potential and existing business owners.

Serving 18 counties, the SBDC has a 31-year record of sustained economic impact in the form of access to capital, business starts, job creation, and sales increases.

The SBDC depends on financial support from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), the University of North Florida, local government, and contributions from businesses and individuals to operate.

Investment in the SBDC and its SBRN
provides a significant return to the community:

Economic Development

Small businesses comprise more than 90% of all businesses in Northeast Florida. To sustain job growth and support economic development efforts to attract large companies to the area, we need a healthy small business community.

Leverage

Investment in SBDC and its SBRN more than triples, as it attracts matching federal dollars and leverages other contributions.

Economic Impact

An independent study shows that businesses assisted by SBDCs grow at three times the rate of unassisted firms.

Return on Investment

By joining "Friends of the SBDC," your contribution will assure the continuation and expansion of the proven SBDC counseling and training programs that are fueling economic growth in Northeast Florida. Your investment will also result in helping the SBRN achieve its mission of connecting small businesses with the business and professional resources they need to grow and prosper.

Whether you have directly benefited in the past from SBDC or SBRN assistance or you simply share the vision of building a strong support network for small business, please consider becoming a"Friend of the SBDC".

Your tax-deductible donation in any amount will serve as matching funds to attract federal funding.
