In addition to the core services provided by the
SBDC at UNF, the Florida SBDC Network provides business assistance
in the following specialized programs:
Business
Technology Commercialization Program provides
support for small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in R&D
or manufacturing in Florida. The BTC program promotes rapid commercialization
of innovative products and serves as a bridge between the investor
community, technology-based firms, university researchers, federal
agencies, and local economic development organizations. The program
provides training, counseling, information resources and referrals
to individuals interested in the start-up, retention and expansion
of technology-based firms in Florida. For more information, see
the Florida SBDC
Network.
Defense
Economic Transition Assistance Program is
a specialized initiative to assist defense-dependent or defense-related
businesses suffering from a reduction in defense spending or base
closures/realignments. The DETA program provides management and
technical assistance to those affected for the transition into additional
strategic markets. This assistance is offered to military personnel
or employees of defense contractors, small defense contractors and
sub-contractors, and small firms that are defense-dependent but
do not sell directly to the DOD or to related primes contractors.
For more information, see the Florida SBDC Network.
