Sponsorship/Donations Needed for Veterans/Service Disabled Veterans Entrepreneurship Class!

Two Inexpensive Laptops Needed

The Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida (UNF SBDC) has received funding from WorkSource to run two classes to teach up to 40 veterans and service disabled veterans how to run their own businesses. These classes will provide participating veterans with strong exposure to business basics while they research and complete a business plan for their new venture. We are providing classroom space, book and handouts as well as business plan software. The class will be taught by Certified Business Analysts on the UNF SBDC staff.
To provide a strong incentive for participating veterans to complete their business plans, we seek funding for two inexpensive laptops. One will be given away to the best single business plan submitted in each class as judged by our staff here at the UNF SBDC. We can buy two laptops for just under $1,000 so we will accept laptop(s), a donation or partial donation! Our accounting policies do not permit us to buy computers and give them away. We need help to make this incentive work. We were able to do this many years ago and it is amazing what a difference it makes to those who win. Many of the participants have under $1,000 to start a business. This would be huge. Thanks.
