Nonprofits: Many Got Burned Playing Finance Game

Many nonprofits took advantage of tax exempt bonds to expand facilities and fund endowments in recent years. According to a recent article in the New York Times, There were many nonprofits earning a 25% return prior to the bottom falling out of the economy. Now they have a far smaller return, but the same expenses.
