ComForcare Senior Services is a provider of private duty, non-medical in-home health care in Jacksonville,Florida. The company serves clients who are 18 years of age or older with particular focus on the senior community in Duval, Clay and St. Johns counties. ComForcare’s specialty is providing excellent care to the senior population. The home caregivers provide personal care for individuals seeking assistance with ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) and provide these services in many settings including residences, assisted living facilities, independent living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals or wherever the clients reside.

Jill Metlin was appointed as President of ComForcare in 2009.  She began to work with the Small Business Development Center at UNF because she was seeking help with various issues including human resource and financial management.  In 2011, Jill learned about the SBDC’s Growth Acceleration Services, which are designed to help companies develop sustainable growth strategies in key business areas, including marketing and business development, cash-flow management, strategic planning, market/industry research, as well as capital access.
Jill met with Robert Myers who is a Certified Business Analyst and Growth Acceleration Consultant.  Robert helped Jill determined the company was positioned for growth in revenue and increased employment if certain guidelines and an improved business model were put in place. ComForcare was in need of human resource help including structured employee manuals and employment guidelines. Jill also wanted a better understanding of the company’s key performance indicators as well as a better operational social media marketing platform.

Human resource consultants were contracted to help Jill put together the employee manual and solve some employee performance issues. In the fall of 2012, a graduate-level social media marketing class in the Coggin College of Business was assembled to help overhaul the company’s social media presence in the Jacksonville market. Financial performance analysis was also conducted to help Jill better understand the potential for revenue growth and better market penetration.

As a result of her participation in Growth Acceleration Services, Jill has a more focused approach to her financial picture and is extremely happy with the company’s new social media strategy. She has opened a new field office in another county that will help increase revenue and has hired over twenty new employees in the past year.
