Business Has “The Look”

Turning 50 is always a milestone in anyone’s life, and Tammy Tombroff started thinking about her bucket list. She had been a single mom, raising three children while she worked as a cosmetologist during the 1980s, but also managed to find time to go back to school to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and then a master’s in Social Work. She opened her own business and worked as a clinical social worker for 16 years. But during that time she dreamed of having a business where she could combine her first career with her second; combining beauty, health and healing. When Tammy’s youngest son graduated from high school, she made the decision to close her practice, renew her cosmetology license and pursue her dream.
She consulted with Marge Cirillo, Certified Business Analyst at the Small Business Development Center in St. Johns County to determine how she could do this. With help from Marge they were able to put together a business plan and obtain a loan from a local lender to fund the project.
The Look and Lifestyle Salon is located at 2303 N Ponce De Leon Ave in St Augustine. It’s an organic salon, wellness spa and boutique using the best, purest products and offering personal life coaching. Tammy would recommend Marge and the SBDC to all prospective and existing business owners who want to follow their dreams. She hopes this story inspires anyone who gave up their dream, or became sidetracked because of a marriage, children, personal issues, money or fear, to re-evaluate their life and recapture dreams they might regret not fulfilling later.
