International Trade Certificate Starts February 7th!

Want more customers? Did you know… 95% of the world’s population and more than 70% of the world’s purchasing power is outside the US? How do you get your fair share?

With the US economy still making a slow recovery, have you ever thought about selling your products to customers in other countries? If not, why not? And if you already export to one country, why not look at other markets?

·        The International Trade Administration estimates that between 2010 – 2015, 87% of global growth will occur outside the United States.

·        The Obama Administration put the spotlight on the importance of exporting from the US Economy by launching the National Export Initiative, with the goal of doubling exports in 5 years. According to the National Export Initiative website, in 2012, U.S. exports hit an all-time record of $2.2 trillion and supported 9.8 million jobs.

More often than not, small business owners are afraid to pursue international markets because it is new, different, unknown… Well, isn’t that what drives entrepreneurship… innovation, cutting edge ideas with great possibilities? The SBDC at UNF has assembled the premier experts in international trade to share their insight, knowledge and passion to help you expand your business presence in global markets. The International Trade Certificate Program starts February 7th. In addition to reps from the SBDC, US Department of Commerce International Trade Administration, Enterprise Florida and JaxPort (yes, all from the government and all here to help), the lineup includes lawyers, bankers, freight forwarders, cargo insurance reps, economists and… perhaps most important, LIVE CASE STUDIES – business owners that have taken advantage of the HUGE market outside the US – sharing their war stories, challenges and successes!!
