Integrative Med Group

Shane Grindle first started his career in the Navy and then became a registered family nurse practitioner (FNP) working at St. Vincent’s Medical Center assisting the less fortunate on the medical surgical floor and at the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville on the transplant cardiology floor. In July 2020, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Shane started Integrative Med Group. With many people becoming unemployed and losing insurance benefits, Shane wanted to make healthcare accessible and affordable with all rates and costs being transparent without surprises to the patient. Shane started his autonomous practice with the motto of ‘’no insurance, no problem.” He was able to reduce his start-up costs giving him the ability to pass those savings along to his clients and allowing him to serve patients in a larger capacity.

The Florida SBDC at UNF was instrumental in helping Shane get started. They assisted Shane with his business plan, marketing, and access to capital. They helped him stay organized, connecting him with resources, including contacts in the community who helped streamline the start-up process. This lead to the grand opening and ribbon cutting of his new location. Shane says, “The help and resources that I have been given for free is incredible and I have even shared the information with many of my healthcare colleagues due to how involved and supportive the team has been. Just how much everyone is personally vested in my clinic and success is just so appreciated!”

The Florida SBDC at UNF continues to assist Shane in creating a greater online presence and with the overall growth of his business. Per Shane, “The pandemic has been very difficult to overcome but we are slowly adding patients and sharing the great information and helping families in the process and making Jacksonville that much healthier.”
